Musician
Having started learning the piano at age five, I've continued to be heavily involved in the music scenes of wherever I've lived. I am currently living in Plymouth and am enjoying being the pianist for blues group Russel Sinclair and the Smokin' Locos. We recently released our debut album (details can be found in the media section), and I have played with a number of other artists in the south west, some of which have been my own projects.
Previous collaborations have included the Secret Minstrels, a jazz/Celtic crossover duo with international fiddle sensation Freddie Smith. In various outfits, I have performed in venues including the National Theatre, the Cadogan Halls, the Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, the Fairfield Halls, Ashburton Blues Festival, Labyrinth Roots and Blues Festival, Falmouth Blues Festival and a few more.
We've many up-and-coming events, so check out www.russellsinclair.co.uk for details!
I am principally a jazz and blues pianist, however I also play drums, double bass, guitar(s) and a wide variety of cultural percussions. I'm the brother of up-and-coming music and development academic Charlotte Cripps.
